I have made better communication sounds for the updates, instead of hearing text to voice speeche, (which sound nothing like the original sounds) I have made new driver names from parts of the original 1998 game voices for seasons 1996 to 2003 and all teams from 1996 to 2008. Theses will be available in a separate patch for already released seasons.

I have finished gathering all the sponsors along with making all of the cars and team text/images for both those seasons. I need to edit the general background screens and edit the gpw.exe (incase some don't patch their save). I patched the gpw.exe with a .cst and some of the values are mixed up.

Its been a while. Here are previews of the 1996 and 1997 cars. I still need to edit some cars.


The last two cars for 1996 are livery swaps for Footwork/Arrows (red car) and Forti (green car)
Yamaha in 1996 is the 8th engine which doesn't show at the start. It can be change with a save editor


The stripes don't work right on the air box on the 1997 Tyrrell.

To play as/with the Lola team we will need to make Stewart team 10 and Lola the 11th team and remove Minardi.

They will be released when the 1996/7 starts Or 2996/7

I don't know when they will be released. I will tell you what I have done since the last post and what I need to do.

I have edited both the 96 and 97 gpw.exes, now I need to get some images of each season and some driver images. And sort the ring colours for menu and track view.

I have also finished the 2003 and 2004 car liveries and sponsors, apart from an Arrows livery scheme for one year.

The 1996 season is ready for you to download in the off topic section. It isn't easy to find non car images for these early seasons.

I have nearly finished the information of the .xls/.cst for the 2003/4 update, which will be transferrd to the gpw.exe. The main thing I need to do is sort the rookie/return drivers, menu screens and make an Arrows 2003 car.

The 2003/4 will be the last historic seasons I plan to make. While I make the 2009 update. With the update tutorial I made there three other seasons (1991, 1992 and 1993,) under construction by other people at simracingworld forums.

Thank you GPW (jops) and batista?f1.$ for posting back each time I reply with news on this topic.

For all people downloading and running these updates, there is almost two to three months of work put into these updates together even though you only see one post from me with a link to get these updates.

I may make the scripts (staff, team names, sponsors etc.. to paste into the language text files) and the car liveries for the 1994 and 1995 season so others can make them with help from the custom season tutorial (in the off topic section.
